Restoring Template Data From an RSWA

In an emergency, it is possible to restore template data (parts, images, users, etc…) from the an RSWA unit to a desktop computer.
Extracting the data from the RSWA Unit
- Click the “login” button on the bottom-left side of the screen. Log in as “Admin” with your administrator password.
- Once logged in, select the “Utilities” tab from the right-hand side menu.
- Select “Windows Explorer” from the list of items presented.
- Navigate into “Local Disk (C:)” from the list of directories.
- Navigate into “tessonics”
- Navigate into “rswa”
- Insert your USB key into the RSWA unit.
- Highlight the “data” directory (do not navigate into it), and click the “Organize” button on the top-left of the screen.
- Click “copy” from the dropdown.
- Navigate into “Removable Disk (D:)” by clicking the link near the bottom-left of the screen, under the “Computer” label. If there is no link to “Removable Disk (D:)”, click on the “Computer” label, and then select “Removable Disk (D:)” from the items presented.
- Click the “Organize” button on the top-left of the screen, and click “paste” from the dropdown.
- Once finished, remove the USB key from the RSWA unit and close Windows Explorer by clicking the red X in the top-right corner.
Importing the data into Desktop Tools
- Insert your USB key into the computer that has “Desktop Tools” installed.
- Copy the “data” directory off of your USB key onto the computer. Move the “data” directory wherever you want to store it on the computer.
- Start the “Designer” application.
- Click File > Database > Switch Location…
- Select the “data” directory from wherever you placed it in step 2. You will be prompted with a message stating “The application will be restarted with the new database.” Click OK.
